This website, authorbradlee.com, is run by Simply Sensible Entertainment, Inc., the publisher of Brad Lee's books ("we" and "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, sign up for the newsletter or contact us, and what we do with it. We've kept it short and plain on purpose.

Information we collect

  • When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address, plus your first name if the form asks for it. Our newsletter service, MailerLite, stores this for us.
  • When you contact us: your name, your email address and whatever you write in your message.
  • When you visit: like most websites, this site automatically records basic technical information, such as your browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that sent you here. This comes from cookies and similar tools used by Squarespace, which hosts the site, and by Meta, through the Meta Pixel and Conversions API.
  • When you click through to Amazon: our buttons use Amazon Attribution links. Amazon then reports to us, in totals only, how many people who clicked went on to buy or read the book. We never learn who you are or what else you buy.
  • When you buy a book: purchases happen at Amazon, Audible and other retailers, under their own privacy policies. We don't sell anything directly on this site, and we never receive your payment details.

How we use it

  • To send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To measure whether our ads work, and to show our book ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this site.
  • To keep the site running properly and securely.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that run this site and our advertising: Squarespace (hosting), MailerLite (newsletter), Meta (Facebook and Instagram ads) and Amazon (sales reporting). We don't sell your name or email address to anyone. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Newsletter: unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any email.
  • Ads: you can change which ads you see in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, including ads based on your activity on other websites.
  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most of this site still works without them.
  • Your information: you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you through our Contact page.

Children

This site is meant for adult readers and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter details while you're subscribed, and messages only as long as we need them. Squarespace, MailerLite and Meta protect the information they store with their own security measures.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
